Islam and epidemics

The website Cdr Salamander brings to our attention a potentially serious issue of, well, epidemic proportions. Given existing vaccines, I am not sure how much risk we in the United States face, but the post offers insight on both Islam and the coverage of Islam by our media. . .

MSM ignores Islam's bioweapon - polio

We have one of two things going on at the NYT's 'lil sister, the International Herald Tribune: (1) Amelia Gentleman or (2) the editor, wants a promotion to the major leagues - so don't dare say the "I" word or the "M" word. Here is opening line and push:

[...]

In some rural areas, Muslim clerics tell their brethren to shun the vaccine, calling it evil and part of a conspiracy by the Hindu-dominated government to limit the birth rate of Muslims, India's largest minority. Keegan of the CDC said 90 per cent of new polio cases were in the majority Muslim state of Andhra Pradesh.

GWOT - A Valuable Lesson

A difficult lesson

I received this today from one of my old Air Force buddies. Of course, we military types agree with this author's analysis. We've all been there and watched it happen, over and over again, all over the world. But, I daresay, nineteen of twenty mainstream Americans would not agree with this course of action. They feel certain that there must be a diplomatic solution which will produce the desired outcome without civilian casualties. Sorry folks; It ain't never gona happen.
Richard N.

I once witnessed a bar fight in downtown Olongapo (Philippines) that still haunts my dreams. The fight was between a big oafish Marine and a rather soft-spoken, medium sized Latino sailor from my ship.

All evening the Marine had been trying to pick a fight with one of us and had finally set his sights on this diminutive shipmate of mine...figuring him for a safe target. When my friend refused to be goaded into a fight the Marine sucker punched him from behind on the side of the head so hard that blood instantly started to pour from this man's mutilated ear.

Everyone present was horrified and was prepared to absolutely murder this Marine, but my shipmate quickly turned on him and began to single-handedly back him towards a corner with a series of stinging jabs and upper cuts that gave more than a hint to a youth spent boxing in a small gym in the Bronx.

Each punch opened a cut on the Marine's startled face and by the time he had been backed completely into the corner he was blubbering for someone to stop the fight. He invoked his split lips and chipped teeth as reasons to stop the fight. He begged us to stop the fight because he could barely see through the river of blood that was pouring out of his split and swollen brows. Nobody moved. Not one person.

Qana-Man A Mortician From Tyre! [AKA Green Helmet Man]
HT AJ Strata from The Strata-Sphere

This just in from AJ Strata who along with other bloggers have been digging deeply on this story. Folks have noticed the "green helmet man" in one too many places including the last Qana tragedy.

Then there is the issue of the time stamps on the ditigal photos. As LGF has noted there are some legitimate reasons for this to occur.

But the real phonyness is with the context/content of many of the actual photos the bloggers have noted.

AJ Strata is now linking to the possible identity of the green helmet man.

Sorry your identity can't be hidden for long once the Blogos becomes curious. Just like American's Most Wanted!

OK folks these photos are beginning to smell even worse! Do you suppose the MSM will bother to recheck this story?

Qana-Man A Mortician From Tyre!

Is it possible the worst possible conspiracy theory about the man in all the Qana photos is true? I have posted on the staged photos as others have on the ubiquitous “green helmet man”. There is even suspicion this same man was on the scene when Qana was bombed 10 years ago. Israeli Insider has picked up on some reporting from the area a few days earlier which now says “Qana-Man” is possibly a mortician from Tyre and may have arrived in his refrigerated truck used to carry corpses. Now the question comes full circle. Was his truck loaded on the way to Qana or on the way back? Read the entire piece, because there are more discrepencies being exposed.

Addendum: This coincidence is getting too coincidental:

“The refrigerated truck that bodies are stored in had just emptied the day before with a mass burial. It is already filling up again, with the bodies of children. ”

What a strange coincidence.

Hezbollywood Horror: "Civil Defense Worker" doubles as Traveling Mortician

By Reuven Koret August 3, 2006

In front of the "refrigerator truck" holding a dead girl (not shown). Later he appears with the same girl in his helmet and flak jacket. (AP)

It was the shot seen round the world: shocking, disturbing, heartrending and intentionally so. [Graphic content appears below and in links.] A man dressed up as a rescue worker held up a dead infant, purportedly killed in the basement of a building that supposedly collapsed after it was allegedly hit by Israeli ordnance.

[...]

For days AP repeated the inflated figures, which continue to be parroted by supposedly reputable news organizations. They don't question or don't worry that the photographs were not staged or posed, even when it becomes clear that the person doing the staging and posing is not a rescue worker but the local mortician, with at least a decade experience specializing in atrocity shots.

Much attention has been focused on the timing of the photographs in an attempt to determine how long Abu Shadi Jradi was parading around the bodies. That would be inappropriate, even ghoulish, if Mr. Shadi Jradi was only a civil defense worker. But it would make perfect sense if his day job is mortician.

A mortician, after all, has the job of making corpses presentable, dressing them and posing them for public viewing. Abu Shadi Jradi is good at his job, so the media can do theirs.

That's Hezbollywood.

ISRAEL - IDF/IAF have "ropadoped" Hez big time!
HT "Sam Pender"

SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATES

RBT and Sam Pender have been carrying on a high level, back channel discussion re the Israeli IDF tactics in this latest go around with Hezbollah.

Now that the battlespace has gelled and Hez has committed and engaged, we can now reveal what may be unfolding before our eyes.

Other strategic thinkers are having similar thoughts:

Israpundit [Update]

See this comment from Sam to RBT's post re Hez may have bitten off more than they can chew.

The IDF has changed the game plan without cluing in Hez that the rules have changed this time!

Just read it. Man, I'm tellin ya...I think the Israelis are pullin a ropadope on Hez. They move in, hit, and pull back. Were it not done in broad daylight with arty and tanks in supp....I'd call that a guerrilla tactic.

Israelis are doing hit and runs Hezz is dug into 6yr old positions and bunkers and tunnels

Every time Israel pulls back, Hezz can either reinforce...or run. They're not gonna run.

Israel has to have some gain to show, and has to make it look tough (ie the ropadope) so they take a village after a few probes, then a day or so later another, and so forth.

Man, they're switching the game on the terrorist/guerrilla force. They're making the bad guys sit in place and get attritted. It's outstanding. The thing I like the most about it....it's done in front of THOUSANDS of the world's media. My gawd, FOX alone has half a dozen reporters (so that's 20-30 staff) watching the entire thing from every
angle between Jerusalem and Beruit.

WHAT A FANTASTIC CON JOB! Israelis never fail to impress.

The IDF has out flanked Hez in their own media propaganda game. The IDF/IAF has blinded/numbed with "flash bang" air attacks Hez's command ops in Southern Beirut Lebanon. The Hez forces in Southern Lebanon went on "default mode" of fighting from fixed positions in the south. Bad move if your a guerrilla organization.

BTW the IDF have only bombed about 1% of Beirut but from the media accounts you'd never know it.

IDF is now unleashing a "Hail Mary" run up the Bakaa Valley. They will turn left to the sea, and link up with other units that have penatrated to Litani River and beyond. The Hez forces remaining, cut off from resupply, will be decimated by the IDF/IAF from the north and the south.

The Syrians must sit on the sidelines or take the IDF/IAF heat too. The Israeli air force (IAF) with impunity buzzed Assad's palace with him in it several weeks ago. The IDF/IAF just staged a raid in Hez central in the Bakaa Valley the former HQ of the Syrian Army without any losses of aircraft or personnel. Another polite message to Assad?

The bigger question is whether Assad will side with Iranian President MAD or throw in with the more secular Arab Sunni moderates. The Sunni are all hand wringing over the Shi'ia apocalyptic madness coming out of President MAD. There's a lot of "winking and nodding" going from the Arab Sunnis re IDF destroying Hez. [UPDATE: Exit Zero has a good piece on this and the loss of face by the Iranians and here how Hez gains support of the people]

There is however a much larger looming strategic question for the world. What do Iranian Pres MAD and Imman Yazdi have in store for Aug 22nd. Big day on the calendar in the Islamic world. President MAD has threatened to light up the sky over Israel. Hopefully he's making a metaphorical reference.

Dear Atlas of Atlas Shrugs doesn't think so. She just posted this piece in an effort to catch President Bush's attention.

PRESIDENT BUSH: WAKE UP GODDAMMIT!

And Israpundit has this gloomy piece re Iran preparing for war with the US and Israel

And finally heaven help us see this VENT from Michelle Malkin

And of course see this Israeli strategic secret weapon that Atlas captured from IDF black ops location.

California Yankee has this additional piece on the MSM with links to photos of Hezbollah operating in the midst of civilians:

It infuriates me that the main stream media focuses so much on the death of Lebanese civilians, but ignores Hezbollah endangering those civilians by using them as human shields. Where is the outrage over Hezbollah's deliberately putting Lebanese civilians in harms way and deliberately targeting Israeli civilians?

The Commander was a young, elegant man. Well spoken, well educated, wistful wehn he spoke of his beloved wife and three children. Dear G-d, these people are diving for dear life, when they could be diving for pearls.

These are not extraordinary individuals I tell you. He spoke mostly to their obsession with the sparing of civilians. This is their biggest concern. He said they could take out South Lebanon in a heartbeat, but this was not an option. Civilian life was the priority.

[...]

Next stop was the Patriot Missile Base in Haifa, again no photos. Again, extraordinary people. Another young, fabulous Captain explaining that they will not use Patriots to shoot down Katushyas. Why use to a million dollar missile to shoot down a thousand dollar rocket that they have thousands of? The Patriots are for the Iranian missiles.

The Patriot base in Haifa is Israel's first line of defense in the missile attacks on Israel. They see it first. They are the frontline of defense for the whole if Israel. They cue the sirens, the bomb shelter warnings, these guys are so on all the time. When I asked what signs hanging off this massive structures said (red hebrew lettering), one of the soldiers said "ARMED."
Yeah bababababy.

They know why they are fighting and what they are fighting for.

What I saw today will forever stay with me. It was life affirming. Oh yeah I almost forgot. At each of these military installations I visited, these young courageous people with the weight of the world on their shoulders had prepared a small table of fresh fruit and sweetcakes with cold water and lemonade for us. Unbelievable.

Hezbollah loves children- dead ones

Posted By Uncle Jimbo

I lived until 2002 in a small southern village near Mardshajund that is inhabited by a majority of Shias like me. After Israel left Lebanon, it did not take long for Hezbollah to have its say in other towns. Received as successful resistance fighters and armed to the teeth, they stored rockets in bunkers in our town as well. The social work of the Party of God consisted in building a school and a residence over these bunkers! A local sheikh explained to me laughing that the Jews would lose in any event because the rockets would either be fired at them or if they attacked the rockets depots, they would be condemned by world opinion on account of the dead civilians. These people do not care about the Lebanese population, they use them as shields, and, once dead, as propaganda. As long as they continue existing there, there will be no tranquility and peace.

Dr. Mounir Herzallah
Berlin-Wedding

OK let me get this straight Hezbollah, who does so much charitable work, builds a piece of terrorism infrastructure and then puts a school on top of it.

After thousands of rockets fired into Israel from these Hezbollah hideouts among their own people, the Israelis document that there are rockets being fired from just behind a structure in Qana. These rockets fly purposely toward Israeli civilians killing and wounding innocents. The Israelis then drop leaflets warning the populace that because rockets are coming from their houses they will be forced to destroy those houses to safeguard their own people.

Update:

Other thoughts re the Qana incident being a Hezbollah proganda event.

All is not as it at first appears to be.

As promised earlier, here's a summary of cogent thoughts from other thinkers in the Blogos on this developing story.

There's a problem developing here where the MSM is getting sucked in as a propaganda outlet for the enemy in the GWOT. I'm sorry but many large dailies have such an unabashed hatred for President Bush, they are lossing there sense of objectivity and succumbing to manipulation by the enemy. We just witnessed this with the report by CNN's own Nick Robertson on the bombing in Beirut that Anderson Cooper deftly corrected several days later.

Bush has many faults but I haven't seen much rational/logical alternatives on the part of the LL and MSM either. I just read where Britain's PM Tony Blair, likened the US to Superman. Even though innocents will be killed in any war, we can't retreat to Smallville either, as Superman later learns there are greater unfavorable consequences if he fails to act.

I'm not a big fan of Gingrich but I tend to believe we are witnessing the start of WWIII. If not perhaps the Spanish War prior to WWII. The parties are probing and testing each others mettle with this proxy fight. There are many signs similar to 1938 that many are in a state of denial. The MSM is distracted with its personal battle with President Bush to notice these nuances and educate the readers on the growing darkness and rise of Evil in the world.

Are we about to enter Tolkien's World of The Ring Trilogy of good vs. Evil?

I'd be watching very carefully what the Iranians [President MAD and Immam Yazdi and the Mad Mullahs] do on Aug 22nd.

We must clearly identify the enemy, radical Jihadists and their ideology of hate and evil that has no place in the modern world. There is no moral equivalence between the death and destruction of Islamofascism [Religion of Peace?] and the modern, peaceful religions of the world.

My God are we all going to die like frogs brought slowy to a boil in a pot of water?

Qana update

The site EU Referendum demonstrates the extent to which the Qana deaths are being exploited heartlessly by Hezbollah propagandists and their willing enablers in the mass media. The cynical exploitation of the dead bodies of children over a period of hours shows beyond any doubt that Hezbollah has no respect for or compassion for the the mortal remains of these victims of violence.

Which fact adds weight to the hypothesis that Israel’s attack did not kill the children, but they were rather kept inside the building afterward, and it collapsed hours later due to either its weakened state or to vibrations from an attack half a kilometer away, or perhaps from the explosion of weapons kept in the building by Hezbollah.

The IDF is reporting that evidence suggests that it was not, in fact, responsible:

Putting Qana In Perspective

When we or our allies go to war, we expect the maximum effort to adhere to the modern conventions of warfare, especially in protecting civilian populations. Unfortunately, the success for such efforts largely depend on the nature of the enemy. An enemy that does not concern itself with protecting civilian populations — in fact, one that hides itself and its weapons among civilians for tactical and political purposes — makes civilian casualties impossible to avoid. That Israel faces such an enemy should surprise no one, especially considering the tactics used by their enemies now and for the last generation, as Naomi Ragen reminds us in Arutz Sheva.

Alexandra von Maltzan at All Things Beautiful has a similar perspective to Capt Ed:

The 'Moral Equivalence Brigade' Reign Supreme

As a breath of fresh air and sparkling sanity at the UN meeting, came the unscripted speech given by Israel's Dan Gillerman, [from my own notes] who in no uncertain terms named Hezbollah as the monster the Lebanese Government had allowed to spread its tentacles everywhere totally unchallenged; who would not have taken such a massive stronghold had they enforced resolution 1559 as they were obliged to do; that the atrocities carried out by the Hezbollah thugs would not have happened.

He talked about how Hezbollah has infiltrated every pore of Lebanon, like a metastasizing cancer from within. He said that we have witnessed civilian casualties, and that Israel grieves for each one of them. Also, we have heard how difficult it is to distinguish between Hizbullah and civilians. He pointed out the admission by the Lebanese Ambassador, only the other day, that

It is impossible to differentiate between Hizbullah and civilians in Lebanon. Hizbullah is everywhere in Lebanon, and has become part of Lebanese society.

He also said that he would not be surprised if Hezbollah had not allowed the civilians to leave the building, despite repeated requests by Israel to do so. My own view is rather mixed regarding this particular issue: Although I believe that this is not only possible but in fact highly probable, I nonetheless think the Lebanese Government bears the heaviest burden of guilt, for it failed throughout this crisis to provide any of its citizens with the most basic means to evacuate.

Gillerman went on to say that the world has learned how deeply Hezbollah has penetrated Lebanese society, and that we have learned once again how ruthless and indiscriminate Hezbollah is. The same international community and this very Council has learned how right they were in repeatedly demanding the disarming of this terrorist monster.

From Eagle1 at Eaglespeak linking to The American Spectator

Modern warfare: the second front is the media

A nation at war must either be better at propaganda than their enemy or ignore the media and win the battles on the ground. In either event, it's no place for half measures. See here:

The Israelis are losing this war because their government is fighting indecisively on one battlefield and not at all on the other. Because the Israelis aren't fighting the media war, the press is slashing at the Israelis hourly in a manner previously reserved for President Bush. Like the president, the Israelis are losing politically because the enemy is fully engaged on both fronts.

Hezbollah is playing the media like a fine instrument, and despite Israel's post-event explanations, videos of dead babies trump videos of rockets being launched from the building housing the children.

In a weird way, one of the factors that hurts Israel is that its people are protected from the unguided rocket attacks by their civil defense preparation- bomb shelters and safe rooms, anti-missile defenses. If Israel had lost 50 kids when a rocket had hit a school early in this skirmish, the world might be more sympathetic to Israel. But....when the rule is "if it bleeds, it leads" then the reprehensible tactics of Hezbollah in using human shields work.

Women and children first: the propaganda of compassion, at Qana and elsewhere

The casualties at Qana are horrific. The visuals are heartrending, and the details sorrowful--especially the predominance of women and children among the dead.

We are biologically predisposed to want to protect children--to love them, to smile when we see them. Only monsters kill children, correct?

Although the phrase "women and children first" comes from maritime tradition, the same impulse has meant, historically, that societies were generally dedicated to protecting that especially vulnerable and vital portion of their population from the enemy.

This doesn't mean that in war women and children were not killed, of course, despite those efforts at protection. In particular, the aeriel bombardments of World War II made children fair game if they happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, although they were not specifically targets (except for purposeful Nazi killings of Jewish children during the Holocaust). Some countries, such as England, sent many of their children off to the countryside during the war, because it was mainly cities that were bombed.

Larry? Christiane? Nic? Anderson? [Fill-in-the-blank network anchor]? Anyone? Anyone?

***

Gerard Van der Leun is must-must-read on the weaponization of children. We need more antidotes to moral equivalence like this:

If you aren't sure exactly who has the moral high ground in the current struggle in Lebanon, you might reflect that while it is possible to see a grown man on the Lebanese side of the struggle dangle a shredded child by an ankle for the world's cameras, you don't ever see that sort of thing at an Israeli funeral, do you?

And while you might be feeling very, very bad for the dead and dangled child, you might also ask yourself where the pictures of all the dead Hezbollah and Hamas warriors are? Don't see many of those, do you?

Or perhaps you do, if you ask yourself what sort of man could hold up a dead child by the ankle to be photographed. Or what sort of man could seek out and take the picture and make sure it got out to the ever accommodating Associated Press?

Because you do see the "brave" terrorist warriors in these pictures after all. They're the ones digging up the kids, and holding them up for the feast of the cameras. Indeed, the terrible truth that we in the West cannot confront is that, in some instances, they're the ones that are killing the kids in the first place. As we know if we are honest with ourselves at this stage, there is nothing too base and too vile for the proud "warriors" of Islam to do in the service of their anachronistic god; their banner is the Bloody Shirt, and they will never have enough blood to quench it. And any blood, as long as it is not theirs, will do.

EXCLUSIVE - Sam Pender on Hipocrisy of Int'l Force [Lebanon]

An RBT exclusive - Guest post from Sam Pender on Lebanon and the hipocrisy of the call for an International peacekeeping force:

Politicians lie. Lawyers lie. Politicians who are liars do it twice as much. Diplomats spin, steal, and lie even more. Yet with that common knowledge, I am awestruck, insulted, infuriated, and embarrassed at the hypocrisy and audacity of those who oppose the war in Iraq yet demand an international force of non-American troops be sent to Lebanon. . .

RBT

*****

How DARE You Call for an International Force!
By Sam Pender

Back in November of 2005, Rep Murtha called for a staged removal of US forces from Iraq over the following 6 months. Other Democrats like Sen. Kerry, Sen. Biden, and more called for similar action, and the “cut and run” strategy in its various forms became the staple of being a Democratic Party leader in 2006. In any event, had any of the 2005 Presidential hopefuls’ plans for removal of forces from Iraq been followed…there would be almost no American troops there now. The US Army and Marine Corps would be free to conduct other operations; free to deter other threats around the world.

Two weeks ago, after having over 1000 rockets launched into their country from South Lebanon, and after Hezbollah guerrillas literally walked 30meters past a UN observation post so that they could walk into Israel, attack an Israeli unit, kill 8 soldiers, destroy a tank, kidnap two soldiers, and then walked back past the UN observation post into safe haven in Southern Lebanon…well, Israel had had enough and they responded. Israel blockaded Lebanon with ships in the Mediterranean Sea. They shut down the airports by destroying runways. They blew up bridges leading out of the country. They used huge 1000lb bombs to make the roads out of Lebanon impassable-all to limit Hezbollah’s ability to take the captured Israeli soldiers to another country. Israel then started making probing attacks just a few miles into Southern Lebanon to try and get their soldiers back, and also started striking Hezbollah command and communication centers.

Hezbollah has publicly admitted that it didn’t expect such a reaction from Israel. They expected Israel to continue to sit quietly and take the rocket attacks, accept having its soldiers kidnapped, accept being marketed as the Evil Empire of the Middle East. Hezbollah was wrong. Israel was wrong to have sit quietly and acquiesce so long that it would viably permit Hezbollah to even conceive of a complacent Israel.

Hezbollah had been fortifying its positions in South Lebanon for six years-since the moment the Israelis left. Hezbollah did this literally yards away from UNIFIL-the UN’s observation force that failed to observe anything for 28 years. Some of Hezbollah’s positions were simple sniper nests and foxholes, but others included concrete bunkers with steel reinforcement as deep as 300 feet underground! That’s quite an accomplishment for a terrorist force; the kind that moves them from ragtag gang, past armed militia, and into the mega-terror group category.

Their positions held well (apparently) against the Israeli incursions, but not against Israeli air strikes. To counter those, Hezbollah turned to its Media Council (all mega terror groups have these-including Al Queda). The Media Council began to stage press events, photo ops, and even dictated the news to the world news media. Their objective was to highlight the women and children and poor civilians that Israel was targeting, and to distract from the Hezbollah leadership sites that were at the center or as much as 100’ below apartment buildings, schools, etc. This worked well and without question in most of the world, but in the United States CNN’s Nick Robertson was caught and had to admit that he was just a mouthpiece for Hezbollah. CNN’s Anderson Cooper then covertly and bravely demonstrated how Hezbollah was controlling the sights, images, and stories coming out of Beirut. Still, it was masterful PR on the part of the terrorists, and the world cries out for a cessation of hostilities. The BBC even had the audacity to directly ask Pres Bush why he didn’t just call Israel and tell them to stop targeting the Lebanese civilians (asking the same question to Hezbollah’s leader would have likely ended the BBC reporter’s life).

Diplomats and politicians around the globe did their usual routines. The Kofi Annan and the UN cried, “STOP! Or we shall have to say ‘STOP!’ again.” Presidential failures of the past/hopefuls for the future declared without question that if elected 2 years from now, then 3 years from now there’d be no Hezbollah problem-all the while skirting answers as to how, and leaving nothing but political rhetoric in their wake. Like bees to honey, or flies following a cavalry parade, they raced to the airwaves to give their rhetorical plans for peace. At the top of the list of cries was the ever popular, on-key-fits-all solution for an international crisis as presented by people out of touch with reality: an international peacekeeping force was needed to separate the Israelis from the Hezbollah “militia” which was mandated to have been disarmed by UN 1551, 2 years ago.

These calls for peacekeepers come loudest from the ones who aim to gain prestige in their calls for peace-not from those who are to spend blood and treasure. The idea of peacekeepers on the border (whether it’s in a 1, 2, or 20 mile buffer zone) is simply stupid. I know it’s not normally constructive to chastise other’s ideas, but there’s just no logic to this idea. Peacekeeping in the area has a 28 year history of unequalled failure. It would include leadership that has increasingly failed in such missions over the last 20 years, and no nations want to be part of the peacekeeping force.

No nations want to be part of the peacekeeping force-including the United States. Now, opponents of the war in Iraq would reflexively pounce on their talking point that the United States can’t get involved in a peacekeeping operation because it’s “bogged down” in Iraq. That point is false, at least arguable. It ignores the Democrats’ Iraq strategy, and it is why I challenge those who have advocated both pulling force from Iraq and the creation of an international force: How DARE you do so?!

Democrats are united on only 3 things:

• The United States needs to get out of Iraq and many feel they should already be out

• An International peacekeeping force is needed in Lebanon

• Even if American troops were not in Iraq, Democrats do not support sending Americans to be part of that international force

This is the source of my outrage. Democrats and the international community at large mocked the American-lead “Coalition of the Willing” in Iraq. They said that even though there were dozens of countries involved, it was really only the US and UK. They dishonored the sacrifices, efforts, and the spending of so much blood and treasure on the part of nations like Spain, Italy, Poland, El Salvador, Lithuania, and all those smaller countries that gave all they could. Now, the same people who dismissed these smaller nations as insignificant have the absolute pits of audacity to call upon those nations to enter into an unending conflict in South Lebanon-one with no timeline for withdrawl, a 3 decade history of completely utter failure, incompetent leadership, no clear chain of command, as many as 5 opposing forces, and they do this so while opposing the inclusion of American forces-even if hundreds of thousands of forces were available. How dare they?

Politicians lie. Lawyers lie. Politicians who are liars do it twice as much. Diplomats spin, steal, and lie even more. Yet with that common knowledge, I am awestruck, insulted, infuriated, and embarrassed at the hypocrisy and audacity of those who oppose the war in Iraq yet demand an international force of non-American troops be sent to Lebanon. Woe to the 2008 Presidential Hopeful who is asked,

“If the US was out of Iraq by now or today or tomorrow, would you support American inclusion in a peacekeeping force in Lebanon?”

Obviously Chris Matthews, Tim Russert, and George Stephanopolos wouldn’t dare ask a possibly embarrassing and important question of a Democrat, but I’ve no doubt the moment will come when someone who is not giddy and starstruck at Sen. Kerry, Sen. Biden, or Sen. Clinton will ask them this question that undeniably proves their hypocrisy and political cowardice in terms of national security and involvement in the world community’s crisis de jour.
