75 Ayes 0 Noes [Final updated vote tally]

Measure now goes to CA Senate.

This should send a strong message to the terrorist Iranian Regime that it can no longer count on oil/gas investments by fund managers and businesses who are acting counter to the strategic interests of the United States and betting this fascist regime will survive. Without these foreign investments propping up the Regime's oil/gas sector, the Regime's house of cards will collapse. The Iranian economy is tanking because of its diverting oil/gas revenues into funding its messianic nuclear program while at the same time directly involved in killing our troops on the ground by funding worldwide Islamofascist terrorist organizations whether they be Shi'ia or Sunni, AQ, Hamas, and Hezbollah et al.


Perhaps the world is awakening to the fact world events are very similar to those of 1938, a time in which Evil was rising in the world. Perhaps this time we can take action to prevent WWIII.

Dear Assemblyman Leno, Members of the Appropriations Committee, and author and co-authors of AB221:

I want to personally thank each and everyone of you in unanimously voting AB221 out of committee as well as the author and co-authors of AB221. Your courageous action and leadership will send a strong message to the enemy of the United States.

This enemy seeks our total destruction and what we cherish most - the free will of men and women. This stateless enemy transnational in nature is unified by a fanatical cult-like religious misogynistic Ideology of hate and Evil - Islamofascism. The Iranian Regime is ruled by an ultra conservative Arabic Shi'ia sect of Islamism that is despised by the majority of the Iranian people. This Regime has clearly announced its apocalyptic mission to the world. Make no mistake this is no idle political rhetoric. This cult fully intends to ignite a war of Armageddon to hasten the return of the 12th Imam to fulfill prophecy. They will gladly die and sacrifice others in their messianic zeal no matter how irrational this may seem from our Western frame of reference.

The Iranian Regime is directly involved in killing our troops on the ground. This Regime is actively aiding and supporting Islamofascist proxies worldwide whether they are Shi'ia or Sunni, an oxymoron - the enemy of my enemy is my friend. This Regime by funding its nuclear weapons program and these terrorist proxies has run the Iranian economy into the ground. If not for certain oil and gas companies who are continuing to do business with this Regime, the Regime's house of cards would implode.

California through the unified actions of the investment committees of both Cal-PERS and Cal-STRS can take a leadership role in the free world in wielding a powerful strategic weapon against the enemy and those who give it aid and support. I'm dismayed at the investment managers who fret about potential investments losses. Assemblyman Lieu nailed it when he said these globalists advisers are betting against the strategic interests of the United States that the Iranian Regime will survive. Assemblyman Lieu called profits from these investments blood money. I've used the paradigm shift analogy that we must not be the frog that will die in a pot of water if brought slowly to a boil (urban legend).

WE MUST NEVER FORGET!

There is true Evil rising in the world. There can be no moral equivalence given to Islamofascism, there is no middle ground, there can be no appeasement. The Greatest Generation that went before us clearly recognized those danger signs and rose to the challenge. They implored us, "Never again!" Have we forgotten that message as we go about our daily lives sipping our cafe lattes? Any ideology that doesn't recognize the free will of men and women is destined to fail in time. The only question remaining is how many will be killed before the Good rise up and conquer this Evil.

This ideology from the Middle Ages must be vanquished.
